Our economy and our families are suffering. We can do something about this by supporting the proposed port at Longview that will put people to work quickly and will keep them gainfully employed for years to come. The Millennium Bulk Terminals Project in Longview is a perfect example of an opportunity that could provide the positive and necessary transformation of a long depressed region. I encourage you not to delay moving the project forward. Let’s be clear â€" the project should and will go through careful review to ensure compliance with existing laws. But I urge you not to put up new road blocks to the hundreds of middle class jobs and millions in tax revenues this project will bring to the region. These projects should be reviewed like any other project â€" without special bias based on the type of commodity being exported. Our community cannot afford to delay the jobs that this project will bring. The agencies are doing a great job of evaluating Millennium Bulk Terminals port proposal. I am convinced that this project’s permit should move forward without further delay
