Submission Text
In a time that has included seeing neighbors and friends out of work and under-employed, we need to encourage economic development. In my opinion, that cannot happen soon enough. That is why I am writing today. Coal is not toxic especially in regards to the elements / minerals contained in coal. Coal is not toxic in water â€" coal is not soluble and chemical bonds are only released through burning. The DOE approved water treatment facility at the old Reynolds aluminum site (now MBTL) has large water filters that contain anthracite coal to clean the water. The final water polishing step before being discharged to the river is coal and has been for decades. No further study is needed! We hear a lot of opinions about coal, but the reality of the Millennium Project is that it will have state-of-the-art equipment and best of all will bring life back to a site that has been left stagnant for some time. Many of us would love to have the opportunity to spend our entire career in one place. Millennium is offering that to us. Why not take advantage?
