I appreciate the opportunity to weigh in on this development project in Longview. Coal is not toxic especially in regards to the elements / minerals contained in coal. Coal is not toxic in water â€" coal is not soluble and chemical bonds are only released through burning. The DOE approved water treatment facility at the old Reynolds aluminum site (now MBTL) has large water filters that contain anthracite coal to clean the water. The final water polishing step before being discharged to the river is coal and has been for decades. No further study is needed! The agencies are doing a great job of evaluating Millennium Bulk Terminals port proposal. I am convinced that this project’s permit should move forward without further dela
