I think that the state should deny the permit. Some reasons why I think this: (1) The emissions from burning the coal that would get shipped through this terminal will have an adverse effect on our climate, and on the ocean acidity levels. Our ability to produce food on land because of warming, and on the ocean because of rising acidity will be impacted. (2) If our region does not do its part to combat global climate change, other regions will not either, and that would be catastrophic. (3) Trains carrying coal will spread coal dust and other pollution, and have the possibility of causing a major problem in the state that the state will end up having to clean up, because the trains do not carry sufficient insurance against damage. There are many other reasons, but really, this is sufficient. Thanks for considering my comment.
